Job Aid - Design and Development

Often training is developed when, in fact, a job aid can be designed, developed and implemented at a fraction of the cost of training.

One of the first signs that a job aid may be an answer is when a task is infrequently done and has a significant degree of complexity.  another sign is a task where the negative impact of performing the task incorrectly issignifigant.  The Task Analysis Toolkit, for instance is designed to flag tasks that are recomended for job aid use.
